The UX Research Intern is accountable for research associated with our various domains of the Signet user experience. Signet is seeking an intern who can support and grow into leading both generative and evaluative user research and usability studies, with the ability to create research protocols, distill insights and make recommendations with little supervision. They will support multiple projects from challenge definition to insights to usability testing, using Design Thinking and Agile development.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Identify how to frame the research problem​.​
  • Collaborate with Research Strategists, Designers, Producers, and cross-functional teams throughout the end-to-end process using Agile design methods.
  • Promote UX principles to ensure that every project, large or small, starts with customer needs/empathy, strategy, and a well-defined problem to solve.
  • Uncover rich insights from quantitative and qualitative data, leveraging first, second- and third-party sources.
  • Collaborate with internal analytics partners to track the performance of the team’s solutions and use that data to inform the next iterations of design needs.
  • Manage multiple workstreams with varying timelines and complexity with authority and passion.
  • Help package concepts and insights and charismatically present to internal stakeholders in persuasive, articulate and compelling ways -- storytelling skills are a must.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in human factors, psychology, communications or similar field
  • Graduation date of May 2025 preferred  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with moderating and designing task-based usability studies as well as conducting in-depth contextual customer interview and surveys
  • Ability to lead stakeholder interviews, secondary research, and design-thinking workshops.
  • Experience with design research methods, research design, journey mapping, design workshops, insight distillation, storytelling and creating principles and concepts that align to an ideal customer journey
  • Expert at identifying customer, cultural and competitive insights and writing research and creative briefs
  • Experience with the UX and technical facets of eCommerce platforms
  • Familiarity with various digital/mobile research technologies, software and equipment, e.g. UserTesting, dScout, Miro, etc.

Work Environment:

Remote: open to all candidates regardless of location

The salary range for this opportunity is $18.00-$19.50/hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
