The Department of Cyber Security and Digital Solutions guides digital transformation within the Government of Nova Scotia. Formerly known as the Nova Scotia Digital Service (NSDS) within the Department of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services (SNSIS), we have evolved into a standalone department with a focused mission.

Reporting to the Manager of Web, the Web UI Designer is part of a multidisciplinary team that designs, builds and maintains government’s websites. We help Nova Scotians find, understand, and take action for the programs and services they need.
The Web UI Designer works closely, with developers and content strategists to produce digital products and design systems. As a Web UI Designer, you will develop expressions of the government brand into user interfaces that are accessible, easy to use, and engaging.
You will participate in the strategy and UX work that lays the foundations of our web design process as it moves from the early strategy phase into the visual UI design. Working with developers, you will ensure the designs align with the needs, requirements, and design intent.

In addition, as the Web Specialists, you may be called upon to provide advice or support related to the technical implementation and integration of social media as a part of a web project or strategy.
As the successful candidate, you will have a bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years related experience; or graduation from a recognized Information Technology Program plus three (3) years and six (6) months; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Salary Range: $2,640.65 - $3,215.50 Bi-Weekly
