About the Indiana Department of Revenue:

The Indiana Department of Revenue Agency & Business System Support Division. is responsible for providing service and support to Indiana Tax paying customers. Salary:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.


Role Overview
:


The Department of Revenue (DOR) is ready to welcome an engaging Web Designer to our creative team. As the Web Designer, you will support DOR’s extensive external website supporting tax customers across not only the state but the entire country. We seek a Web Designer who is comfortable engaging with various agency partners to develop and execute website updates and in the building of new pages.

DOR aims to provide best-in-class customer service and our external website is a key component in our continued effort to improve our services to our customers. As the Web Designer, you will need to be able to provide graphic design services for various outlets including but not limited to social media posts, print publications, emails, and other electronic publications.

About the Job:

As the Program Director, you will be responsible for administering a program within a state agency and serving as the specialist in a specific area. In this position, you will utilize education, consultation, cooperative programming, and coordination to accomplish goals.

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Comfortable working in multiple Content Management Systems such as Squiz Matrix and WordPress
  • Design engaging and responsive pages that deliver an engaging user experience
  • Employ industry and design best practices throughout the website building and update process
  • Conduct regular website testing and report findings
  • Collaborate with content creators and requesters to ensure requirements are properly delivered
  • Delivery projects on time and communicate challenges or roadblocks timely
  • Collaborate with team members and consultants to deliver engaging web designs that generate interest and assist in reaching DOR objectives
  • Comfortable designing and delivering graphic design for various channels
  • Develop photography concepts for DOR and capture photos of department events
  • Record edit and distribute videos to internal and external audiences
  • Draft, edit, and publish print and digital materials and publications
  • Customize the formatting of documents using styles and themes that reflect our agency brand
  • Assist with the production and provide content for monthly e-newsletters and other e-communications.
  • Assist team with agency supportive projects such as video production, photography of events, and live streaming of agency events

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role continued:

  • Establish program objectives, KPIs, and actions to achieve them.
  • Develop, update, and monitor all policies and procedures related to the program area.
  • Interpret and explain policies, rules, regulations, or laws to leadership or customers.
  • Implement corrective action plans to solve program problems.
  • Analyze, prepare, and disseminate monthly and annual program reports.
  • Review the budget and make budgetary recommendations to improve the program area finances.
  • Ensure program requirements meet federal and state policies and grant compliance.
  • Assist in the development and training of employees or agency consultants on program requirements and usage.
  • Coordinate and deliver communication plans and communications.
  • Serve as a liaison between the agency and other state and federal agencies.
  • Serve on management committees or other governing boards.
  • Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
  • Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees. Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • Specialized knowledge in program subject matter obtained through experience and/or education.
  • Specialized knowledge of the program area including pertinent rules and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of all source materials and references including federal and state laws governing the programs.
  • Ability to develop and implement new principles and policies and discern any far-reaching implications.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and budget principles.
  • Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
  • Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may serve as a team lead for an assigned work group.
