Web Designer

About the Role

A web designer is a professional who combines technical skills with creative design abilities to create and maintain visually appealing and functional websites. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing ideas to life by translating concepts, visions, and requirements into visually appealing and functional website designs.

This position includes front-end web page design and development to help improve company digital presence. Must be proficient in Wordpress, Divi, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP and responsible for building and deploying new front-end features to our WordPress websites.

As the Web Designer, you will transform visual concepts into tangible design elements for Brivo websites. You will be working closely with the creative team to bring their designs to life and collaborate on the implementation of interactive elements, animations, and transitions.

You will also be expected to:

• Create wireframes or mockups, visual elements and user interface (UI) design for Brivo websites and landing pages
• Create visually appealing graphics, icons, and images for use on websites. Apply design principles and utilize tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator to create or modify visual elements.
• Create branding and identity systems for websites, apps, and other media
• Design custom WordPress themes
• Work with developer to implement visual elements of websites and landing pages
• Optimizing pages for maximum speed and scalability
• Develop pages that are responsive and adaptive to different screen sizes, ensuring a seamless user experience on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
• Establish and maintain design standards and best practices
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure that websites function properly across different browsers, devices, and operating systems. Identify and resolve any technical issues or bugs that may arise during the development process.
• Collaborate with content creators to ensure that website content is accurate, well-organized, and visually appealing.
• Stay updated with current design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in web design. Apply design principles such as grid systems, typography, color theory, and usability to create effective and visually pleasing designs.

About You

• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Bachelor’s degree in design or a related field
• Experience as a graphic designer or in a related field
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
• Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, and Illustrator
• A strong eye for visual design and composition
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design
• Strong understanding of wordpress
• Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
• Strong communication skills
