Lapero is looking for a highly motivated and creative Web Design Intern to join their team. As a web design intern, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining visually appealing, user-friendly, and functional websites. You will work closely with their development team to ensure that websites meet client requirements and user needs.

This three-to-six-month internship places selected candidates with employers across Arkansas on real software development projects where they will gain experience under the guidance of a professional mentor.


Internships are designed as an on-ramp to kick off a software development career and can roll into full-time positions based on employer demand.

Lapero creates high-end websites and mobile applications, provides UI design, excels in UX research, and offers other technology consulting services. They bridge information with ideas, features with benefits, and creativity with results-driven solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Design visually appealing and user-friendly websites that meet client requirements
  • Create website layouts and user interfaces using design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud softwares and/or Figma
  • Develop and maintain Wordpress websites using Wordpress' Gutenberg page builder.
  • Collaborate with our development team to ensure that websites are technically sound and meet client expectations
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest design trends, web technologies, and programming languages
  • Collaborate with other team members, including project managers and content creators, to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget
  • Test websites for functionality and resolve any issues that arise
  • Learn specific business logic and absorb industry knowledge

Our Must Haves

  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience using design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud softwares and/or Figma
  • Understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work full-time in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship
  • Current Arkansas state resident
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week, following the three to six-month internship
  • High curiosity and interest in learning new technologies as well as growing or starting your IT career
  • Exhibited technical aptitude through projects, experience, or online learning and ability to communicate what you know

Details

  • Pay: $15/hour, not eligible for benefits
  • Schedule: 40-hour week: typically 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Length of Internship: 3 months
  • Location: Fully Remote or Hybrid, Lapero's team works Mondays and Fridays in Little Rock.

How does the interview process work? ACDS will conduct an initial phone interview and assessment. ACDS will send selected resumes to companies that match the candidate’s skills and interests. Our employer partners will decide who to interview and select the final candidates for the internship program.
