This position is telework eligible (hybrid) under the current DAS telework agreement.


About Us:

The Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS), Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to serve as the UX Researcher/Analyst (Information Technology Consultant 1) for the InnovateOhio Platform team within the Office of Information Technology at DAS.

Led by Director Kathleen C. Madden, the Ohio Department of Administrative Services is the engine of state government, providing innovative solutions and supporting the efficient operation of state agencies, boards and commissions. The Office of Information Technology at DAS delivers information technology (IT) and telecommunication services to State of Ohio agencies, boards and commissions.


What You'll Do:

Validates platform user experience design principles, standards, and products by:

  • Identifying and prioritizing research needs and planning and conducting research studies using a variety of methods.
  • Analyzing quantitative and qualitative data for insights that inform product and design decisions to improve user experience across the enterprise.
  • Conducting user needs assessments, task analyses, developing user profiles and personas; journey heuristic and competitive analyses, and usability testing.
  • Communicating research insights in compelling, creative ways and making recommendations for improvements based on data-driven insights.

Oversees and enforces adherence to platform user experience design principles, standards, and products across projects by:

  • Educating and guiding project and delivery teams to ensure understanding of platform user experience philosophy and standards and state policies. Create and maintain comprehensive internal and external documentation outlining the UX QA process and expectations.
  • Reviewing user experience designs, work products, and deliverables to ensure that solutions developed comply with platform, enterprise, and industry principles, standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Organizing and executing user experience, usability, and accessibility testing and review to ensure compliance with standards and approved requirements and designs.
  • Collaborating and engaging with project teams to align on expectations when issues are identified that require resolution

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of associate or undergraduate core program in information technology, electrical engineering or telecommunications; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs exp. in systems analysis & design; 12 mos. additional trg. or 12 mos. additional exp. in one of following: systems development, telecommunications or networking.

  • Familiarity with issue and project tracking software ex. Jira and Confluence

Hybrid Telework Schedule: 2 days per week in-office and 3 days per week from remote primary home location. This schedule is subject to change at any time based on business need.
