Our Community Planning & Resilience Division includes community planners, federal grants management experts, and software service providers delivering a diverse suite of services in support of our clients. Our portfolio includes projects within urban planning, housing, economic development, community engagement, disaster recovery, mitigation, and grants management.
We are growing and have an immediate need for a UI/UX Designer to join our team in Metairie, LA.
Required Skill and Experience:
- Three or more years of user experience design experience for software, Web applications which leverage emergent technologies, and responsive design
- Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, developing wireframes, workflows, prototyping, and mockups
- Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail
- Experience with information architecture for content organization and implementation
- Experience working with new and current design technologies
- Experience with user interface design patterns and standard UCD methodologies
- Experience creating style guides for developers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of common software project management practices
- Understanding of common software development practices
- Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, for a responsive web design
- Awareness of Telerik controls for the use/insertion of charts and graphs
- Experience with 508 and WCAG compliance methods, quick access, and useability requirements
- Knowledge of visual design best practices for things like typography, color theory, layout, icons, and general design theory
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic using analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work within project deadlines.
- Experience working on multiple projects.
