Chowbus is a fast growing, well-funded food startup headquartered here in Chicago on a mission to help diners to discover new and exquisite dishes, and to give traditional mom and pop restaurants a fighting chance to succeed without compromising who they truly are. By building a super app, our goal is to be the one stop shop for everything related to food.
The UI/UX designer will be responsible for the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of Chowbus POS systems. The designer will ensure that all aspects of the digital user experience are optimized for usability and clear user flow through customer journey, wireframes, mockups and prototypes.
Responsibilities include:
70% design & feedback loop with team
20% design asset maintenance and upkeep
10% QA and on-site research if applicable
- Based on design requirements, create design assets such as wireframes, UI, prototype that are based on user-centered design principles and methodology
- Present and advocates for design recommendations, highlighting research, data, or industry standards that influenced the design decisions
- Collaborate and communicate design intent with other team members not limited to PMs, Engineers, during feedback loop
- Ensure a complete deliverable that satisfy the product requirement as well as readiness for other designers
- Conduct user research with end-users and/or with Product Manager to understand user intent and opportunities for improvement
