UX/UI Design Summer Intern

The Role

Proofpoint’s UX team has a direct effect on the customer experience. We assist the organization by providing key customer insights that drive product roadmaps. As a UX/UI design intern for our Proofpoint Security Awareness platform, you can affect how administrators and learners run and experience security awareness training.

We are seeking a highly motivated UX/UI Design Intern to join our team. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including product mockups, usability studies and UI components. This role is ideal for a student with a passion for design and a desire to learn more about user experience. This is a great opportunity to learn and to apply your knowledge to make an impact in the real world.  

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design teams to create concepts and mockups

• Use tools such as Figma to create visual assets and collaboration activities
• Assist with user research and user interviews to gather feedback and improve designs
• Create accessible and localization friendly UI components
• Help create decks to showcase design concepts, ideas, and research
• Participate in design reviews and presentations to share progress and get feedback

• Special projects as required

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a design or related field
• Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles and best practices, experience designing human centered software
• Experience creating product mockups and wireframes
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Experience in Figma or other design software
• Excellent organizational skills and initiative to improve processes.

Candidate Profile

You have the ability and interest in working full time (maximum 40 hours/week) in our Pittsburgh office or remotely. You are pursuing an undergraduate degree and successfully maintaining an above average GPA. This internship is scheduled to run for 11 weeks from June to August 2023.
