UX/UI Design Intern

The UX/UI Design Intern will assist the Diffusion Labs UX team by supporting our data-centric innovation project that will impact future experiences for CSL. The team will be working on building a new product from the ground up, with opportunities to contribute to the foundational user experience of the tool. The intern will collaborate with the team to implement features end to end by understanding business needs, conducting user research, translating insights into flows and wireframes, presenting ideas, and finalizing approved concepts with pixel-perfect UI. The intern will have the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with experienced UX professionals on a scrum team, working on a variety of features leveraging user experiences principles and agile methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Take part in user-centered design methods including user research & synthesis, exploration, wireframing, detailed design, and prototyping.
• Support user research to obtain user feedback on existing designs that will inform new design improvements
• Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering to understand product requirements, receive design feedback, and handoff designs
• Create flows and wireframes to determine what steps a user needs to take to complete a task and the intended functionality in the interface
• Utilize design tools and processes to create new product design elements from components to complete page views, working within an existing style and framework.
• Contribute to the creation of a Figma component library containing our re-usable design elements and components, style guide, WCAG compliance standards, and developer instructions
• Create low to high-fidelity design artifacts for peer reviews of design work to evaluate design techniques and overall success in meeting the user experience objectives

Qualifications:

The most successful interns have been those who are genuinely interested in Web and mobile applications and who are self- motivated and ready to learn. Candidate should have some experience with design thinking, visual design, UX Research, Product Design, Figma, Adobe Suite, Systems Thinking, Information Architecture.

Preferred Majors: Communications, Visual/Design Communication, Human Computer Interaction, Product Design, Interactive Digital Media, Graphic Design
