Compensation: $25/hour

The Opportunity:

As a UX/UI Design Intern, and a member of our Interos User Experience team, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in our collaborative design process and contribute to the conception, evolution and realization of Interos’ Supply Chain solutions.

You will be an integral part of a growing team of creative professionals who are passionate about solving problem for our users / customers / stakeholders and will lead through example.

You will work closely with product managers, development leads, data scientists, user researchers and fellow UX professionals to realize solutions that are not only useful and relevant, but also delightful, consistent and valuable to our customers.

You will immerse yourself in the totality of the problem and solution space – including, understanding the problems and needs of the end-users; actively collaborating with other stakeholders to explore the possibilities and the constraints thoroughly; generating breakthrough design concepts and crafting them into buildable solutions; and actively participating to ensure the fit and finish of the implemented design. Our design process is inherently cyclical and iterative – this means you, as a key member of the user experience team, you will need to continually learn, understand, ideate, create, and validate your solutions – constantly pushing the product towards greater excellence.

What you can expert as an Interos UX/UI Design Intern:

  • You will receive hands-on mentoring in core design skills, including crafting a vision, developing concepts, using research to validate, and developing that vision through to fruition with development staff
  • You will actively participate in the end-to-end user experience practice, using industry-standard best practices and design tools including the Adobe Suite of Tools
  • You will collaborate with your peers and Interos leadership to develop and implement design strategies and programs for the organization
  • You are a team member, a team player, and a team supporter who recognizes that it takes many hands to create design excellence and sustain it
  • You are an innovator, driving design for the next generation, reusable navigation strategies that help bring together the multiple services and solutions from the Interos application
  • You are a solution finder, constantly seeking solutions to product, technical, and any challenge that hits your radar
  • You are a champion of the customer and the customer experience
  • Work with product managers to understand the business requirements and help sculpt the product vision
  • Generate models that form the theoretical foundation for great solutions: workflow diagrams, flowcharts, storyboards, personas and more
  • Work with UX design colleagues in other areas to generate more creative ideas, and to ensure consistency
  • Quickly explore multiple design directions to envision the best possible solution, including working closely with design and product leadership

What you bring:

  • You are a passionate problem solver with experience (and curiosity) in designing user interfaces and working with others to deliver that vision
  • You are comfortable with the challenge of engaging with others on a daily basis across location-diverse organizations
  • You are a clear thinker, able to grasp abstractions, and an effective communicator who is able to present your ideas clearly and succinctly
  • You are organized, and at the same time, you have the ability to stand outside preconceptions and examine things afresh and anew
  • You have an expected graduation date in December 2023 or May 2024

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on visual design skills across desktop, mobile and responsive design experiences, including experience with building and using a rich and diverse design system
  • Experience designing for cloud application software in an enterprise environment, where there are multiple levels/types of end-users
  • An understanding of consumer-grade experiences within the enterprise and B2B space
