(AI)RM Consulting Ltd. is seeking a UX/UI Designer in a 6 Month Internship role to support our team of engineers, actuaries, data scientists, and developers, providing AI-based risk management and insurance solutions.

As a UX/UI Design Intern you are excited to push the envelope of company-wide design initiatives and support the development and delivery of a market leading AI-based risk management and insurance platform. You're passionate about design. You're a strong communicator, a problem solver, and enjoy the challenge of working with design constraints. You willbe responsible for a range of tasks, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.
We are open to the idea of the candidate working remotely. The candidate will have to communicate regularly via web conferencing platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the research, design, and prototyping of user interfaces and experiences
- Conduct user research and develop personas, user stories, and user flows
- Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop solutions
- Participate in usability testing and incorporate feedback into design iterations
- Support the team with general administrative tasks as needed
- Contribute to the creation of design documentation and style guides
Requirements:
- Understanding of UX/UI design principles and practices
- Familiarity with design tools, such as Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of web and mobile design best practices is a plus
- Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing is a plus

Qualifications/Skills:
- MUST RESIDE IN CANADA
- Degree in Product/Industrial Design, Systems Engineering, Human Computer Interaction or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years working in the field of User Experience/Interaction Design
- Online portfolio demonstrating design experience, or a Master's/Bachelor's thesis on a user experience-related subject.
- A commitment to learning and the ongoing development of your skills.
- A positive and resilient personality. You must be able to embrace feedback and have a desire for continuous iteration and improvement
- Analytical and strategic mindset.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
Skills:
- Clear understanding of visual design principles, aesthetics and responsive design principles
- Ability to strike a delicate balance between aesthetics and engineering
- Clear understanding of modern web and mobile platforms
- Hands on Knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Experience with React an asset
- Knowledge of latest design industry trends and best practices
- Experience with industry standard design tools
- A positive attitude towards problem solving
