Job Description
As a UX Research Intern, you will work within a development team and collaborate with other designers across the Product Division to help us build and create simple solutions for the airline industry. The Product division is a collection of subject matter experts, engineers, product designers, and other leaders who build and improve the data infrastructure that powers flight shopping.
You Will:
- Support end-to-end generative and evaluative research studies, including the design, administration, and execution, across ATPCO’s product portfolio
- Gather knowledge about user needs through various channels and analyze existing data and product designs to identify research opportunities
- Attend moderated and unmoderated sessions and support the facilitation of focus groups or customer/user feedback sessions
- Interpret data from analytics, A/B testing, or multivariate testing
- Synthesize quantitative and qualitative data sources into actionable recommendations and present findings and recommendations to cross-functional partners, key stakeholders, and leadership when necessary
- Create deliverables in the form of engaging reports, journey maps, or other artifacts as needed
- Partner effectively with UX team members, product management, engineering, marketing, and commercial teams
- Work in an iterative design process and a lean or agile development process
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has an understanding of planning and executing different types of research and usability testing activities
- Familiar with the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase
- Comfortable conducting primary and secondary user research with an understanding of contemporary methodologies and best practices
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills with the ability to turn research results into product insights
- Ability to create compelling presentations and confidently convey insights through storytelling
- Strong design thinking mindset and an understanding of interaction design
- Prior work experience in UX research is a plus
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Usability Engineering, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field
