Porter Airlines is looking for a UX Research & Digitial Accessability Analyst with extensive experience with inclusive design and accessibility to join our growing digital team.
This role reports directly to the Director, Digital CX Solutions and supports design, development and quality assurance teams.
In this role, you will be a key member of building Porter’s digital accessibility program and advocate for the principles of accessibility and inclusive design throughout the product development lifecycle and educate, support and mentor others to build the skills and confidence to meet this goal.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Seek strategic opportunities for identifying and removing accessibility barriers to positively impact the user experience for users with disabilities and drive appropriate systemic changes
- Develop and continually evolve scalable accessibility processes and systemic frameworks for implementing, sustaining, and maturing digital accessibility across the organization
- Drive adoption of evolving accessibility standards and requirements
- Manage, lead and facilitate research studies utilizing appropriate methodologies
- Create test plans and moderate remote or in-person usability and accessibility testing
- Organize and catalog research insights
- Leverage insights gathered through participation in usability testing with people with disabilities to refine accessibility best practices and methodologies and influence usability testing practices.
- Turn data into actionable and convincing business and design recommendations and clearly communicate to stakeholders through written reports and presentations
- Collaborate with designers to create UX solutions based on research results
- Communicate professionally with stakeholders across the organization to continuously improve adoption, support, and understanding of digital accessibility practices
- Help build and enhance research and UX processes and methodologies through practice development and following industry trends
- Act as a resource for teams for best practice information on research methods, recruitment strategies and synthesis
- Analyze and improve research processes across teams

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred
- Hands-on experience in conducting accessibility testing on websites to meet WCAG 2.0/2.1 level AA, including understanding of the Accessible Canada Act (ACA) and success criteria
- Expert understanding of disability related issues with respect to digital accessibility
- Proficiency in using assistive technologies like Jaws, NVDA and VoiceOver
- Expert understanding of usability and user interface design principles
- Knowledge of user-centric design, accessibility standards, trends, and requirements
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods (survey, card sorting, tree testing, jobs-to-be-done, user interviews etc.)
- Must provide an online portfolio. Candidates unable to provide examples of their work will not be considered
