JOB SUMMARY:
For this position, you’ll be joining the innovation center… the branch of the company dedicated to defining, designing and delivering smart home products to our customers. Specifically, you’ll be on the Protect team – a group that focuses on core home security, security cameras, DIY security solutions, premium services, and our Vivint Design System. In this role you will be working closely with senior and lead designers to contribute to the products and experiences we will deliver to customers throughout 2024 and beyond.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Work closely and collaborate with our design, product and QA teams to build the ultimate Smart Home experience
- Help implement new user experiences across a number of products (e.g., Doorbell Camera, Indoor camera, Core security, DIY, etc)
- Work in a fast paced, self-directed environment
- AS A UX DESIGN INTERN, you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers, while applying end-to-end design thinking and design process to deliver a solution to a customer-facing problems in the Vivint Smart Home Android and iOS mobile apps.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE…
- Contributing to and maintaining the Vivint Design System
- Designing within the Vivint Design System
- Designing for accessibility needs
- Creating prototypes
- Organizing, labeling, and structuring your files in a way that is understandable to others… allowing them to find and move through the information you’re sharing
- Creating robust handoff documentation for engineering
- Working with engineers during and after the development of your products to ensure that the design intent is achieved
- Testing developed experiences in your own home… reporting bugs and giving feedback.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
- Senior enrolled in a Bachelors program
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in a variety of design tools - specifically Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proficiency in (or a willingness to learn) prototyping tools – mainly Proto Pie and Figma Prototype
- Experience in (or a willingness to learn) all stages of the design process – conducting user research, making wireframes, building prototypes, crafting high fidelity visual designs, testing, iterating, and delivering a handoff to engineering
- Experience with product discovery and research
- Excellent visual design skills
- Experience with hardware is a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
