Job Summary: The UX Design Intern will work with the Product Design team on new and existing product features across our web and native platforms. The successful applicant will have demonstrative ability of working with existing design systems as well as executing clever design solutions from scratch. They will spend their day working with other designers, product managers, and developers to deliver prototypes and concepts for implementation. In summary, you will play a key role in understanding and shaping the experiences that our players enjoy by solving for problems that we don't yet recognize.

Job Location: Louisville, KY (in office)

Essential Functions:

  • Work with and learn from other designers to build elegant UIs and UX journeys across the TwinSpires platforms
  • Ability to communicate design concepts through user experience design deliverables, including wireframes, flowcharts, information architecture, style guides and prototypes
  • Conduct user testing
  • Manage multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Have an understanding, passion, or interest for online wagering

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction design, new media design, HCI, or a related design field; or equivalent experience required.
  • Excellent portfolio demonstrating skills in UX/UI design or related fields.
  • Experience working in teams with many moving parts.
  • Passion to understand customer desires and challenges, exploring hypotheses, and approaching them with various design solutions.
  • Deliver improvements and approaches to capture key takeaways and insights.
  • Proficient in design and prototyping tools - Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, Figma or similar.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Desire to work with a fun, tight-knit team.
  • Love for all things design!
  • Ability to participate in a full-time, 8-12 week paid internship Summer 2023
