UX Design Intern
Safe Software is looking for a talented UX Design Intern to join our Product Development team and support our FME Form/Engine product.
In order to provide the best onboarding and mentorship experience, this position will require the intern to work on-premise at least 2 days per week at our office based in Surrey, BC, Canada. The remaining 3 days can be worked remotely from home.
About The Team
Our Product Development department spans our entire FME product platform (Form/Engine, Flow, Flow Hosted, and Mobile) and is subdivided into specialized cross-functional teams that support the end-to-end development cycle.
As a member of our FME Form design team, you will work with a small team of Developers, Quality Analysts, a Product Manager, and fellow UX Designers to shape the future of our product. You’ll also collaborate with other UX designers to ensure a consistent experience across all of our products, as well as provide and receive feedback. Our team values collaboration and open feedback and we look forward to adding your voice and experience to the mix.
You can learn more about the FME Platform and find out how it helps organizations bring their data to life.
What You’ll Be Doing
We’re looking for an intern to help deliver UX solutions that measurably improve the workflows of our users. On any given day, you might be:
- Building out wireframes and high-fidelity mockups, or polishing up a finished interface to share with the team.

- Presenting and sharing your design work with stakeholders to support discussions.
- Conducting user research to inform design decisions.
- Contributing to the overall design practice at Safe alongside other designers.
What We’re Looking For
Safe Software evaluates applicants based on their passion and skill with technology. That said, having experience with some of the following areas is an asset.
- Ability to develop low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes that effectively communicate interactions and design intent.
