UX Design Intern

IZEA's workforce is 100% remote, and the ideal candidate thrives with the freedom and flexibility this structure provides. This internship is under the direction of our Senior Product Designer with support from our Product Manager and General Manager.

Description

Looking to get your feet wet in the software industry? Are you in-the-know about design trends? Break into the influencer marketing and software development industries as a UX Design Intern!

IZEA creates influencer marketing software that connects brands and influencers, and we’re looking for an ambitious intern to help support our Senior Product Designer.

You’re a curious go getter looking to grow your experience on a dynamic, start-up culture-oriented team, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment. You are happiest when you are continually learning and working with a team of high achievers like yourself. You’re highly organized and collaborative.

Internship Details

We’re looking for Undergraduate Juniors & Seniors and Graduate-level students who are interested in a remote internship this Fall. The best fits are those majoring in or have experience in Design (Human Centered, Product, Interactive, UX, CX, Service) or extending to Human Factors Engineering, Psychology, Business Administration, Analytics, Computer Science.

You will work under our Senior Product Designer and alongside the Product Engineering team, supporting them with the overall design and user experience of our Flex influencer marketing platform.

• Currently recruiting for Fall 2023 (September - December)
• All IZEA internships are for-credit-only arrangements
• Students must receive academic credit for the internship; please confirm with your school that this is available
• Must have working equipment with a stable internet connection to complete the necessary tasks.
• NDA paperwork will need to be signed by students
• Availability for at least 15-20 hours a week

IZEA Provides

• Relevant work assignments (individual and group) across IZEA departments, including Client Development and Client Services
• Personnel and time to assist interns
• An assessment of individual interns at the end of the program

As a UX Design Intern, under the guidance of the Senior Product Designer, you will gain experience with the following

• Consult and collaborate on interpreting design needs and translating high level requirements into effective interaction flows and visually engaging solutions
• Use data and insights to collaborate in the design, development, and evaluation of user experience improvements across the Flex platform
• Participate in ideation sessions with SPD, PM, GM, CEO to co-design solutions that address prioritized experience challenges and opportunities
• Bring new ideas to the table to address user friction points and opportunities for new features that delight and bring value to users
• Follow a professional software development process
  
  

You will also learn about the following

• Emerging social platforms, social and marketing trends
• Campaign management and sales strategy
• How to think critically about more significant marketing objectives
• The basics of influencer marketing -- from research to outreach tactics and tracking
• Exposure to other cross-functional teams

Qualifications:

• Self-motivated and an independent thinker with the ability to thrive in a fast moving environment and an entrepreneurial mindset
• Familiarity with design software such as Figma.
• Proven UX & UI design experiences with a strong portfolio.
• Passionate about and interested in influencer marketing, content marketing, social media marketing, and digital strategy.
• Drive to grow and learn.
• Passionate about technology.
• Able to collaborate and work well within a team in a virtual setting.
• Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization.
• Motivated and focused while working independently due to the virtual nature of this internship.

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must be available for an internship that will run from September 2023 - December 2023
• Candidates must be comfortable working remotely
• Candidates must be available for 15-20 hours per week
• Candidates must receive academic credit for the internship

Bonus

• An understanding of agile methodologies
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS
