Job Purpose

As part of the User Services Department, the User Services Specialist provides patrons with library services and information. The User Services Specialist acts as the primary point of contact to the public, provides basic information and directional assistance, assists users in locating materials, and maintains a welcoming and inclusive environment in the library. Typical job duties include circulation of library materials, management of borrower accounts, maintenance of the library book collection, management of course reserves, processing consortial borrowing requests, and supervision of student employees.
