Position Overview:

LawDepot.com is currently expanding and looking to recruit a User Research Analyst in Edmonton, Alberta. Working in the Product UX Department, you will be responsible for conducting research and reporting on our users, our competitors, and the market as a whole. You will identify opportunities by running surveys, completing user and usability testing, providing user insights and thoroughly documenting trends in the industry. This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week with opportunities in office or hybrid.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design test plans, conduct user testing, and report key findings to inform product development and marketing strategy
  • Plan and execute quantitative and qualitative research studies to get contextual feedback for product improvements
  • Utilize research to help set strategy and plan projects by providing insight into products, competitors, and customers
  • Use a variety of research methods to gain user insights into the motivations and behaviour of our current and prospective users
  • Present and summarize research findings to all interested stakeholders
  • Coach UX design team on research methodologies and best practices
  • Identify new market opportunities and conduct thorough research on industry trends to support long term, sustainable growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate user research findings into product design and development processes
  • Develop expertise and become the go-to authority in designated areas of market research
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of research methodologies, data collection processes, and analysis techniques to ensure consistency

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Psychology, Business, or any research related fields
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in UX and UI specific research, usability studies, and moderated and unmoderated user tests
  • Ability to translate business objectives into actionable research questions
  • Experience pulling insights from various research reports to make UX recommendations
  • Ability to gather data from various sources (internal and external) and find patterns/trends
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Excel for conducting statistical analysis
  • Experience converting complex data into digestible tables, graphs, and written reports
  • Excellent planning, assessment, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently on a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Experience using competitive research tools (SEMRush, Google Analytics, Useberry, UserTesting.com, or similar) would be considered an asset
