The ideal candidate will have experience creating mockups to present to teams, collecting feedback, and producing quality work. This individual should be comfortable with building sitemaps, wireframes and prototypes to provide project manners and inevitably execute based on outlined criteria. This candidate should have strong creative and design skills and be familiar with various design technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, journey maps, and mock-ups
- Lead UX strategy and achieve pixel perfection using Figma and or any other tool.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design and deliver high-quality user interfaces.
- Develop user interface specifications based on research, design standards, and best practices, and consider business objectives, user needs, and system constraints.
- Conduct market research, user research, and usability testing
- Advocate for a user-centric, iterative design approach
- Work closely with the development team to ensure high-quality implementation of design specifications
- Contribute to the product management team and help define the product roadmap
- Actively participate in design and solutions meetings, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop optimal design solutions
- Support project delivery by liaising with leads, developers, and engineers and providing design QA
- Assist in ad hoc tasks related to the product
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, or a related field. (It doesn’t matter if you can design)
- Design proficiency: Expertise in tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as creating wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.
- UX knowledge: Understanding user-centred design principles, best practices, and research methods, such as usability testing and user interviews.
- Visual design skills: Mastery of typography, colour theory, layout, responsive design, and mobile-first design principles.
- Knowledge of the Canadian nonprofit sector and issues related to food insecurity is a plus.
This is a summer contract position with Sai Dham Food Bank Canada, a non-profit organization committed to ending hunger in Canada.
