Description

At Kallidus our purpose within Product Design is to ‘remove barriers to people success by creating positive pathways for development’. To do this we have built a team with skills across strategy, research, interaction design and visual design, allowing us to ensure the right customer and user problems are solved.

As a UX researcher you will be primarily responsible for carrying out discovery research on our highest priority problems and market trends, identifying where the opportunity lies for us and our customers. Ultimately, having an impact upon our product strategy and product roadmap. Alongside this you will also work with and support our Product Designers to plan and execute the research required for their own work.

As a confident communicator you will be comfortable with presenting and explaining research to a wide variety of stakeholders and will be passionate about helping to drive forward data-led decision making within the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Establish yourself as an expert in understanding our users, sharing insights and knowledge across teams and squads, championing user needs and driving data-led decision making.
  • Carrying out discovery and ‘big picture’ research on our highest priority problems and opportunities.
  • Supporting our Product Designers with the research they undertake for their own squads, from setting best-practice and helping to write scripts to sourcing participants and running usability sessions.
  • Working with the Product Design Manager to review and enhance our research processes, practices and tools
  • Be a champion of research best practice and educate the business on the importance and value that UX research can bring
  • Work collaboratively with other teams in Kallidus including the wider product team, engineering, customer success and implementation.
  • Own and manage our Product Design mailing list, which customers who want to be involved in our research can sign-up to.

Essential skills

  • Confident in presenting and explaining insights to stakeholders and colleagues
  • Ability to influence others with research and help inform design decisions
  • Aptitude to synthesise data from many sources to identify and recommend innovative products or services
  • Able to strategically plan projects, including scoping
  • Previous background in both qualitative and quantitative research techniques
  • Experience in both self-reported and behavioural research techniques
  • Knowledge of and experience in generative, formative and summative research techniques
  • Capable of defining sample sizes, research plans and questions
  • Understanding of user-centred design and product development processes
  • Ability to conduct small research cycles for rapid feedback vs. bigger research cycles for broader insight
  • Familiarity with developing and using broad-scope and narrow-scope personas

Why you’ll love it here:

Kallidus is committed to building a culture that champions diversity, equality, and inclusion at every step. As a company that is trusted by HR professionals, these principles serve as the very foundation of our work. We are honoured to celebrate team members regardless of race, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, lifestyle, age, educational background, national origin, religion or physical ability. We believe unique perspectives make us stronger, and we’d love for all that share these values to find a home here.

What we'll bring to the table:

  • An opportunistic product strategy in a growing and global industry.
  • A talented team of peers, a nimble and empowering culture, and plenty of passionate customers.
  • A competitive salary & great benefits including pension, health & wellbeing programmes & personal development opportunities.
  • Collaborative 90-day onboarding and ongoing learning (it’s kind of our thing, after all), plenty of upwards career mobility, and a real chance to unleash people’s potential to build better companies
