Job Details

The innovation intern will help to develop and implement the tools used to execute on ChristianaCare’s strategic innovation objectives. The intern will work with the Digital Acceleration Group, caregivers, and strategic partners to build out demonstrations, proof of concept and pilot initiatives, and the innovation toolset. Primarily, the position will focus on collaboration with others on testing and evaluation of new technology and creation of virtual environments for various use cases.

This internship will focus on the look, feel, and usability of our platform tools, as well as the user experience with our virtual and augmented spaces created. Familiarity with User Experience Design and/or digital, virtual, or 3D modeling is a plus.

Education and experience requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Enrollment in an Associate/Bachelor/Master degree program, in healthcare, design, technology, or a field related to the above position.
  • Any innovative/technology experience or hobbies is a plus.

Duration: Summer 2023, June 12 through August 4 (40 hours/week)

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain hands-on experience working with innovation management tools such as Monday.com, MS Teams, MS Mesh, Meta, Spatial virtual environments, etc.
  • Learn and practice iterative design methodologies to solicit feedback, implement, test, and adjust designs.
  • Awareness and experimentation with new technology in the Digital Acceleration Lab, such as virtual/augmented reality, 3D scanning and digital object creation, robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence platforms.
  • Understanding of the innovation management lifecycle and tools used to accelerate the digital transformation and derive value from outcomes within the healthcare environment.
  • Improve collaboration and project skills working with diverse roles within the system.
