Major Purpose
Leverages user experience research insights and recommendations to accelerate discussions and decisions early in the product development process. Applies internal/external standards and best
practices to create tangible visualizations that serve as the blueprint for product team to turn a concept into a solution, while ensuring they stay consistent with brand standards. Work at this level is of moderate complexity covering either a single user class with several personas or multiple user classes with a limited set of personas per user class. Designs cover multiple product lines in a single platform and enable moderately complex but serial user interactions. Designs typically consist of moderately complex modifications to existing solutions.
Major Duties
• Creates and designs elements or components resulting in high quality user experience designs.
• Incorporates branding and common design guidelines into products.
• Creates wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes and specifications.
• Maintains style guides for varying methods of delivery.
• Follows appropriate design methodology, tools, and protocols to conduct user-centered design.
• Translates analytics data into visual designs to support interpretation and generation of insights or vice versa.
Skills, Abilities, Knowledge
• Possesses working knowledge of core user interface languages.
• Technical skill and knowledge in a specialized area of engineering, e.g., design, analysis, test, evaluation, etc.
• Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to deliver production-ready, clean and usable digital user interfaces across multiple form factors.
Education
• Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
• Degree in a Marketing discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
• Miscellaneous degree or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
Work Experience
• Product design experience. (1 - 3 years)
• Work experience in a team environment. (1 - 3 years)
• Internal or external industry specific experience in relevant discipline. (1 - 3 years)
• Experience facilitating workshops on specific need(s) for the job, discipline, function, unit, etc. (Less than 1 year)

Your Responsibilities
As a User Experience (UX) Designer, for John Deere, you will be responsible for creating User Interaction task flows, as well as developing mock-ups, storyboards and prototypes to effectively communicate designs to product owners and development teams. In addition, you will:
• Apply knowledge of usability, human factors, and UI processes to create intuitive user experiences and assist in pre and post-development usability testing
• Create and maintain project and overall system design artifacts
• Work with multiple groups across John Deere ISG as a team member or consultant including development teams to ensure that new features are implemented according to specifications
• Develop and implement process improvements and enhancements
What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)
• Proficiency with at least two design and rapid-prototyping tools, such as: Sketch, Adobe XD or Figma
• Experience thinking in terms of holistic design, applying strategic thinking and business goals to design work, focus on usability, and understand aesthetic values
• Experience translating customer needs into design and to articulate that design to technical team members
• Experience designing for mobile applications, complex interfaces and/or mobile applications
• Experience transitioning easily between multiple topics and aesthetics
• Effective communication and presentation skills
• Ability and willingness to travel to Urbandale, Iowa up to 25%
What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)
• A strong portfolio of UI including screen mockups or prototypes
• 2 or more years of experience with Sketch, Figma or XD, and Prototyping software
• 2 or more years of experience influencing stakeholders to drive an intentional design philosophy
• 2 or more years of experience understanding and applying visual brand guidelines/style guides
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:
• Bachelor's degree in a Human Factors, Graphic Design, Interaction / Visual Design, or related field discipline or equivalent experience
