The UX Design intern will work with cross-functional teams to design world class digital interfaces for the next generation of medical robotic systems. We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in pursuing a career at the intersection of design and life sciences. Primary focus will be on proposing and designing beautiful and functional interfaces. This role will help shape the future of medical robotics and will be responsible for making pioneering decisions in the field of human-computer interaction.


Typical responsibilities will include supporting the design and engineering teams on user research, concept ideation and documentation.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with designers and engineers to design world class digital user interfaces and user experiences
  • Conceptualize new experiences and solutions for our users
  • Help bring design storytelling that inspires, through well curated storylines and presentations
  • Facilitate and synthesize cross disciplinary ideation workshops
  • Collaborate with other team members to produce beautiful and functional interfaces
  • Participate in design assessment of various product prototypes, generate report of results, and present to cross functional team members
  • Create sketches, wireframes, high fidelity comps, prototypes, and written documentation, using modern design and prototyping tools
  • Participate in discovery and research activities to develop and apply a strong understanding of end-users and the problem space
  • Establish narratives and interaction paradigms that guide users through critical experiences

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in a design program
  • Class standing of a Junior or above
  • Prior internship or Co-op experience, preferred
  • Strong product sense and experience working in user-centric product orgs
  • Demonstrated ability to solve challenging user needs through creative interaction design.
  • Minimum of 12 week commitment
  • Comfortable working in a clinical setting
  • A portfolio and narrative that showcases your perspective and core skill set
  • Advanced ability in rapid prototyping techniques including making mock-ups, looks-like models, and building for 3D printing
  • Fluency in Figma
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Fluency in crafting visual and written design documentation for digital interfaces
  • Expertise in a broad range of graphic design skills, including interaction design, visual design, branding, UX research, and more.
  • Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates the above.
  • Ability to be in-person a minimum of 3 days per week in our San Carlos and Sunnyvale locations
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location. Noah Medical reserves the right to modify this range as needed. Please note that the aforementioned range is only one component of the position's total compensation package. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonuses, stock and employee benefits including but not limited to PTO, paid holidays, health insurance, dental & vision insurance, life & disability insurance and a 401k plan. Additional details on the compensation package and employee benefits offerings will be provided to candidates during the interview process.
