UI/UX INTERN

At the headquarters in Kennesaw, Georgia, we have an opportunity for a UI/UI Internship within our Information Technology Department. The IT department supports nearly 400 users at 7 office locations. This intern position will receive hands-on experience, team interaction, and ongoing support. The position may allow some hybrid scheduling to coincide with the scheduling of the department.

Position Overview

Under immediate supervision, the intern will be assigned individual screens of our existing proprietary system and work with business analysts and programmer analysts to update the current design and improve the flow of the systems. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in real world system design.

Key Responsibilities

Relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines, this role is responsible for accomplishing the following tasks as guided.

• Build user interface components with states and interactions
• Collaborate with technical writers and programmer analysts to improve the design of systems
• Create hi-fidelity mockups and prototypes
• Take ownership of your projects and guide them from beginning to end
• Work closely with software engineers to make sure the implementation meets the design definitions
• Meet and implement feedback from the design system users, other designers, and developers across the organization
• Follow the existing work processes while contributing to improvements to the design of our current systems

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior classification toward a bachelor’s degree, in technical areas such as Computer Science or Design.
• A strong understanding of visual and user interface design.
• Experience with software design tools: Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Great organizational skills and attention to details; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Thoughtful, constructive critiquing
• Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities.
