Introducing aSocial! An innovative mobile app startup in the productivity niche!

We are currently Beta testing until our launch in June.

Led by a founding team with experience at Tesla, Shopify, United Nations, and McMaster University, we are a dynamic team of 10 with VC interest and a network of 20+ business partners, achieved in only a few months time. We seek to solve a complex problem that will make the world a better place. We have built an iOS and Android app to address the problem and we are excited to deliver value to our users.

Role description

Position open to students enrolled in Canadian college or university ONLY

We are seeking a talented and creative mobile app UI/UX Design Intern who is passionate about crafting exceptional user experiences for mobile apps. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of user-centered design principles. You should be enthusiastic about leveraging design to solve problems and enhance user satisfaction. This role requires a blend of creativity and technical skills to create visually appealing, intuitive, and engaging interfaces.

You will play a crucial role in refreshing our current UI design and integrating gamification features to make the app more engaging and rewarding for users. You should be comfortable working in a collaborative environment and be able to communicate your ideas effectively to team members. In addition, you should be proactive in conducting user research and usability testing to gather insights and iterate on your designs based on feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Improve and enhance the current mobile app UI design, ensuring consistency with brand identity and mission.
  • Apply gamification features to increase user engagement.
  • Collaborate with the development team to implement design improvements.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on design solutions.
  • Create high-fidelity prototypes and wireframes to effectively communicate your design ideas and solutions.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest UI/UX design trends, tools, and technologies to ensure design remains modern and competitive.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Canadian student currently enrolled in a college or university.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your UI/UX design skills for mobile apps.
  • Understanding of gamification principles and how to apply them.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
