A UI/UX Engineer with a focus on design, is responsible for monitoring user experience and ensuring that software programs and products are easy to use. Their duties include reviewing user feedback to determine potential defects or areas for clarity, working closely with Retail IT and Store Operations to refine user experience and performing usability tests on our software solutions/features to ensure functionality.
UI/UX Eng duties and responsibilities
An innovative and hardworking UI/UX Eng with a focus on design, should be able to fulfill various duties and responsibilities. The following are important duties and responsibilities that this role should be able to execute:
- Ability to prioritize tasks and goals independently
- Work with the O’Reilly Store Operations team to target user groups and carry out interviews or other types of inquiry to help understand user needs
- Ensure the creation and implementation of customized mock-ups, prototypes, and corresponding documentation
- Produce high-quality solutions through Adobe XD, flow diagrams, graphic designs, storyboards and site maps
- Provide guidance on the implementation of UX research techniques and testing activities to assess user behavior
- Maintain a competitive edge against competitor products and industry trends
- Understand product specifications and user psychology and predict what might work for both
- Qualifications:
- Strong UX design experience. Apply Design Thinking principles.
- Exhibits courage and provides strong perspective
- Demonstrates great work ethic and positive attitude
- Communicates ideas and designs to end user and product team members
- Advocates for user-centered design in all product
- Pays excellent attention to quality and detail
- Strong experience with Adobe XD, Figma and/or other design tools
