Overview:
Acuity is looking to hire a strategic UI/UX Designer to support the Intelligence Community (IC) technological advancements. The ideal candidate is creative and innovative and can understand user needs. The ideal candidate is a strong advocate for simple, clear interfaces, who is committed to delivering standards-based web applications that captivate and delight our customers. The position is up to 90% remote but does require in-person obligations on-site in the Washington, DC area.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and evaluate user requirements, and work with engineers and product engineer to translate them into processes and systems
- Use storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps to illustrate design concepts
- Design graphic user interface elements
- Create UI wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that clearly show how sites work and look
- Identify UX problems, propose solutions and recommend implementations
- Create pixel-perfect, world-class user interfaces and original, eye-catching visual design
- Adhere to and help inform style standards on fonts, colors, and images
- Deliver high quality work on tight schedules in a dynamic, agile product environment
- Have a broad experience and a deep understanding of users to recommend UI features that solve customer needs
- Support, communicate, course-correct, and revise through the development phase
- Demonstrate the ability to solve design problems, from both a usability and visual perspective
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or other comparable degree or experience in designing user experiences
- Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role, across various platforms and devices
- Highly skilled in visual design software and wireframe tools
- Proficiency in designing with a user-focused approach
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements and deadlines
- Good time-management skills
- A passionate learner who keeps up-to-date with design trends, tools, and techniques
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and solve problems proactively
Required Clearance:
- Active TS with ability to hold TS/SCI.
