Overview:LMI is seeking highly motivated university students for an internship opportunity in User Experience design!

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of an agile software development team to help create thoughtful and intuitive user interface designs, wireframes, and prototypes
  • Utilize design tools and processes to create new product design elements
  • Participate in peer reviews of design work to evaluate design techniques and overall success in creating compelling user experiences
  • Work with team members of all levels to complete daily tasks, share design and development knowledge, follow-up and escalate issues appropriately, and recommend design and process enhancement
  • Take part in user-centered design methods including user research & synthesis, exploration, storytelling, detailed design, journey mapping and prototyping
  • Translate user stories and business requirements into effective designs
  • Work alongside a UX Designer to conduct user research into how users work through existing UIs and obtain user feedback on existing designs that will help inform new design improvements
  • Help instill a human-centered and collaborative culture in the company

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in a UI/UX related discipline
  • Availability to work full-time for at least 10-12 weeks
  • Strong understanding of design principles and how to apply them
  • Technical knowledge to suggest web-based technologies to be applied to your design is a bonus
  • Prior experience as a UI designer or web designer is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills, with ability to develop and maintain professional relationships within LMI and with its clients
  • Team-oriented attitude with a growth mindset and willingness to continually learn and apply new technologies
  • Previous experience with UX design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD preferred
