Aspen Publishing is seeking the following Technology Interns for Summer and Fall: UI/UX Research, Software Accessibility, and Project Management (Summer Only) to be a part of a growing Company. The ideal candidates will be interested in a career in technology with a focus on customers and design thinking. Interest in higher education and publishing is a plus.
TITLE: Technology Intern (UX Research, Software Accessibility, OR Project Management)


REPORTS TO: VP, Digital Learning & Engagement


DEPARTMENT: Digital


FLSA STATUS: NON-Exempt


POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing support to the Digital Learning and Engagement team


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • UX Research Intern (Summer or Fall)
  • Work with the Digital Learning and Engagement team to plan and execute customer research projects related to new and improved features in our learning platform.
  • Software Accessibility Intern (Summer or Fall)
  • Front-end developer who can be dedicated to implementing accessibility (ADA) improvements on our learning platform.
  • Project Management Intern (Summer only)
  • Help with Inclusive Access/Digital Bookshelf course materials preparations for law school accounts
  • Organizing booklists from schools into robust trackers, creating links and access codes, sending mail merges, working on project workflow efficiencies


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Computer Science/Engineering Major a plus, but not required
  • Microsoft Office
  • Strong Attention to detail and ability to execute plans on time and of high quality
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • Ambition to take on new projects and opportunities as assigned
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Prioritization and multitasking skills
  • Demonstrated ability working independently and as part of a team


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work on computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to listen and speak carefully while interacting with others
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally
