Aspen Publishing is seeking the following Technology Interns for Summer and Fall: UI/UX Research, Software Accessibility, and Project Management (Summer Only) to be a part of a growing Company. The ideal candidates will be interested in a career in technology with a focus on customers and design thinking. Interest in higher education and publishing is a plus.
TITLE: Technology Intern (UX Research, Software Accessibility, OR Project Management)
REPORTS TO: VP, Digital Learning & Engagement
DEPARTMENT: Digital
FLSA STATUS: NON-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing support to the Digital Learning and Engagement team
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- UX Research Intern (Summer or Fall)
- Work with the Digital Learning and Engagement team to plan and execute customer research projects related to new and improved features in our learning platform.
- Software Accessibility Intern (Summer or Fall)
- Front-end developer who can be dedicated to implementing accessibility (ADA) improvements on our learning platform.
- Project Management Intern (Summer only)
- Help with Inclusive Access/Digital Bookshelf course materials preparations for law school accounts
- Organizing booklists from schools into robust trackers, creating links and access codes, sending mail merges, working on project workflow efficiencies
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Computer Science/Engineering Major a plus, but not required
- Microsoft Office
- Strong Attention to detail and ability to execute plans on time and of high quality
- Comfortable working in fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
- Ambition to take on new projects and opportunities as assigned
- Troubleshooting and problem solving
- Prioritization and multitasking skills
- Demonstrated ability working independently and as part of a team
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to work on computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to listen and speak carefully while interacting with others
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally
