The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-fueled organization whose mission is to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improve the quality of life for the children and adults affected by these diseases. Position Summary:

The Foundation has an exciting opportunity available for an intern to support the IBD Plexus product team to launch our Biosample data quality dashboard and develop Biosample management system. This is an excellent remote position for someone interested applying knowledge in solving the challenging complex problems in digital production development.

The intern will report into the Senior Product Manager, Digital Health & Research and work closely with the IBD Plexus team. S/he will be responsible for UX/UI design of the Biosample data quality dashboard and develop wireframes for the Biosample management system.

The Summer Internship is a hybrid work model: 3 days/week in the New York City office and 2 days/week Remote, paying $20/hour.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct user interviews and obtain feedback on existing Biosample data quality dashboard
  • Participate in information gathering sessions to understand user workflows for Biosample management system
  • Provide specifications to enhance dashboard design
  • Collaborate with business and developers to implement and iterate on design

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or similar in Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, Psychology, Information Technology, Human Computer Interaction
  • Experience and understanding of UX/UI design
  • Ability to communicate design concept ideas through sketches, prototypes and wireframes
  • Must be pro-active, self-directed, detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact professionally with multiple and diverse cross-functional teams (i.e. data science, developers, program managers)
  • A background in biology or health-related field is preferred
