Overview: As a User Experience Researcher for Conn’s HomePlus, you’ll play an essential role in supporting the vision for the Conns.com eCommerce experience. We are expanding our eCommerce UX team to create a best-in-class customer experience across all touchpoints of our digital business (search, checkout, finance, customer accounts, order management, product pages, content pages, etc.). We are a retailer and finance company, so the eCommerce challenges require UX thinkers who embrace opportunities to build innovative solutions.
As a UX Researcher for our eCommerce team, you will play an integral role in helping us provide answers to the most challenging questions in the design of our product solutions. You’ll help reveal what our customers need from our products by conducting primary research, exploring consumer behavior and motivation, and working closely with Designers, Product Managers and Developers to build new product features. In short, your research outputs will ensure we deliver the highest level of usability, desirability, conversion, and customer satisfaction.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Building quantitative and qualitative research approaches for all product departments.
- Spearheading the planning and execution of consumer research at every stage of the product’s lifecycle.
- Inspiring change at all stages of product development by delivering engaging presentations about the findings.
- Collaborating with the UX team and Product team in understanding and defining what would ensure that the user’s experience with the product feels intuitive, accessible, inspiring, and easy to use.
- Ensuring that the consumers’ needs are properly understood and prioritized in all product departments, and that the research consistently supports product initiatives and KPIs.
- Promoting research best practices by coaching designers through their own user testing, creating project efficiencies for the UX team
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science, Psychology, Information Science or other related field strongly preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree on a year-for-year basis
- 1+ years of UX or product research experience for a B2C site or similar (statistical analysis, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis, product usability moderating, experimental design, test method selection, etc.)
- Proven successful experience in the integration of consumer research into a business’s product design practice
- Experience with product usability testing tools such as UserTesting.com, Google Analytics, Optimal Workshop, Hotjar, etc.
- Experience with presentation tools such as Power Point, Keynote, etc.
- Experience with data management tools such as Excel.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with retail or customer-facing financial product sites
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills to be able to relay research methodology concepts and findings to cross-functional partners and leadership teams in a clear, simple, and relatable manner (both written and verbal).
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Able to multi-task and shift priorities, as required
