Production Designer-Contractor (remote)

Introduction

We’re looking for an experienced Production Designer with expertise in Adobe Creative Suite for future contract opportunities. This position is remote-eligible, but the ability to collaborate with our Boston-area team in the same time zone is preferred.In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with our Graphic Designer to create user documents and interior packaging for our consumer products. The role as a contractor will vary based on project requirements and may include using InDesign to create or edit user documents, using SolidWorks or Rhino 3D and Illustrator to create technical product illustrations, using Windchill software to release artwork files to production, assisting with creation of artwork and document libraries, participation in brainstorming sessions, and concept development. In these efforts, contractors will work closely with the Graphic Designer, product managers, and various program managers to ensure timely completion of design projects.Please provide a link to your portfolio with your updated resume.

What you will need:

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in design
• High level of understanding of typography and composition
• Eye for clean, visually impactful designs that are current and fresh
• Ability to ensure all documents meet branding guidelines, maintain consistency, and are production-ready
• Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Illustrator)
• Proficiency with Solid Works or Rhino 3D a plus

Qualifications:

• You are self-driven but collaborate well within the team that may include engineers, marketing, product managers, and program managers
• Your design approach is inspired by the user, and you can work closely with User Research to inform and validate design work
• Highly organized and ability to prioritize deadlines/deliverables with understanding of schedule impacts.
• The ability to take feedback with an open-minded and do the same thing to people.
• Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills; can present findings concisely and effectively.
• Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile environment.
• You are ambitious and focused, but you don’t forget to have fun.
• You proactively contribute to a culture of respect and inclusion.
