Introduction:
Civitech is a public benefit corporation dedicated to creating a fairer and more equitable democracy by building the tools and infrastructure needed to increase civic participation, empower Democratic candidates to win, and support the success of progressive causes. Since its founding in 2019, almost 400 partners -- a range of nonprofit organizations, national political committees, and individual campaigns -- have utilized Civitech’s tools to reach tens of millions of voters to help create a more equitable and progressive democracy.
The Product Team Intern will help support a variety of roles (Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and Technical Project Managers) on Civitech’s product team. In this role, you will support multiple products and processes to help Civitech support our clients in running political campaigns.

What You Will Do:
- Review, analyze and report out to product teams on analytics for multiple Civitech products
- Synthesize user feedback and research sessions into digestible artifacts for the team and identify trends to influence product decisions
- Research, write and create product documentation
- Schedule and manage tasks for research sessions with current and potential users
- Support campaign and political research to help inform product strategies
- Attend product and sprint meetings to learn about agile product and project management processes
- Complete other junior level product tasks as assigned by product team members
About You:
- Basic understanding of product management fundamentals
- Quick learner, can pick up new concepts quickly
- You are currently enrolled in or recently completed a product bootcamp or college/university program (or have other relevant experience)
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Software development knowledge a plus but not required
- Experience with product analytics a plus but not required
- Committed to leveraging technology and data products to help Democratic candidates run for office and win, empower progressive causes, and increase civic participation
About Civitech's Summer Internship Program
- This is a paid internship program, and interns will be compensated $17/hour for 20-30 hours of work per week spread over 3 days.
- This program lasts 10 weeks, beginning June 5, 2023, and completing August 11, 2023. However, we are flexible and can adjust start and end dates to work with our intern’s academic calendar.
- This program is for any college student. We encourage students from any 2 or 4-year college or university in the United States to apply—school credit is not required. This program is also for individuals early on in their careers who are not currently pursuing a degree.
- Civitech is a remote company with a small office in Austin, Texas. Interns can work remotely or out of our Austin office.
- You will do real work that will contribute to our mission to increase civic participation, empower Democratic candidates to win, and support the success of progressive causes.
- You will work closely with your manager and staff in your department and also have the opportunity to meet interns and staff in other departments.
