About the Role
This is a 3-month temporary full time position.
As a Product Designer on the team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end user experience for our teleoperators. Some exciting products on our roadmap include:
- 3D visualization software that utilizes our state-of-the-art sensors and cameras.
- Automated tools that help operators streamline their daily missions.
- Next-gen teleoperation console designed specifically for our operators to monitor and take control of our robots on the road.
About the Work
- 2D + 3D interaction paradigm. Explore the state of the art techniques and ideas. Utilizing visual, audio, haptic cues to make the remote driving experience more comfortable and safe.
- Streamlined experience for vehicle operators. Lead the end-to-end design process to deliver streamlined design solutions across tablet, web, and TV screens.
- Research and rapid prototyping. Through user interviews and depot visits, understand the ins and outs of operators' workflows and needs. Prototype concepts and validate the effectiveness of the design solution.
- Create designs that scale. Every design solution is designed with scalability in mind. Contribute to the design system across products, devices and platforms. Collaborate with Product Designers and Front End Engineers to evolve the design system.
About You
- You are a problem solver. You are well versed in exploring a brand new problem space and getting down to the root of the problem. You are unafraid of trying new ideas and iterating on them until the user and business problems are solved.
- You are a systems thinker. You have a knack for connecting the lowest level of details to the big picture, across visual details, user needs, to technical constraints.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment. Projects at Nuro involve cross-functional collaboration with interconnected teams across Product, Operation, Software, Hardware, User Research, and Safety teams.
- You have a design portfolio demonstrating a strong design execution and craft in both 2D and 3D.
Bonus Points
- Experience with 3D design and working with 3D assets.
- Experience with Unity.
- Experience building or contributing to the design system.
- You have a degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or experience in a related field.
At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected annualized base pay range is between $94,050 and $141,500 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills.
