We are seeking a Product Designer with a passion for finding solutions that allow customers to intuitively use our products. This includes creating exceptionally designed user experiences for our digital learning applications catering to students (k-12), parents and learning coaches. The ideal candidate will be skilled at each stage of the design process but always focused on the needs of the customer.

Working with a fast-paced team of specialists, the Product Designer will be responsible for collaborative working environment with your team and stakeholders, to help identify the requirements and objectives needed to meet the business goals. You will be expected to work autonomously to meet deliverables that include designs, prototyping and testing.

  • Partnering with cross-functional teams and customers, turn insights into delightful products in a creative environment that requires proven leadership skills and the ability to execute a creative vision;
  • Set design requirements based on information from internal teams and user research;
  • Identify new product improvement opportunities;
  • Analyze how a new product satisfies market needs and consumer preferences;
  • Stay up to date on current industry trends and market conditions;
  • Coordinate with other design team members to ensure consistent and accurate communication;
  • Modify and revise existing designs to meet changing customer preferences;
  • Work closely with product engineers to suggest improvements for products and processes;
  • Present product design ideas to cross-functional teams and senior leadership;
  • Collaborate with Project team to create wireframes, sketches, prototypes, and visual designs;
  • Produce production assets and design specifications for development teams based on approved designs
  • Combine user experience thinking with design execution, to produce intuitive and desirable interfaces, across many devices;
  • Understand and explore user needs and business requirements;
  • Plan and run user tests and other design research to inform design decisions;
  • Collaborate to build, evolve and refine our design system, ensuring visual cohesion and engineering efficiency across all user touchpoints;
  • Help build out design processes, tools, and culture;
  • Communicate solutions to engineers and stakeholders;
  • Work within design guidelines to create assets that reinforce a brand’s style or voice through its visual touchpoints.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
  • Solid portfolio is required

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

  • An intuitive eye for customer needs beyond the obvious
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members
  • Ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback
  • A well-rounded portfolio of client work, demonstrating a strong understanding of client objectives
  • Ability to effectively communicate and persuade around design concepts
  • Rapid Prototype skills for for web and mobile apps;
  • Solid understanding of our tools (Figma/Sketch/InDesign/Adobe Suite);
  • Passion for design; not satisfied with the status quo and always thinking of ways to improve
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Dynamic, creative personality, effective at engaging and influencing a variety of audiences
  • Provide assistance to product engineers when needed
  • Recommend new tools and technologies by staying abreast of the latest trends and techniques
  • Proficient working in a shared creative environment.
  • Experience with user research such as surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
  • Background in designing for mobile-first platforms.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Solid understanding of design patterns.
  • A solid foundation in layout and design.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to brainstorm, sketch ideas or wireframes.
  • HTML/CSS5 a plus
  • Experience in gaming platform design or a similar subject also a plus

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in design or related field or design certificate training
  • A strong command of contemporary design tools including Sketch, Abstract, figma and Invision.
  • A strong awareness of device specific standards.
  • Comfort working on a Mac OS and Windows.

  • This is a home-based position. This position is virtual and open to residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C.

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections.

  • We anticipate the salary range to be $65,676 to $120,246. The upper end of this range is not likely to be offered, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
