Job Description

Hybrid: Reporting to a specific location where work needs to be performed / collaboration should happen (regardless this location is within a hub) and without regard to where a candidate lives (some employees may end up hybrid who live more than 50 miles away but where business needs dictate them to be onsite at a specific location three days per week).

  • This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Mountainview Technical Center the three times per week, at minimum.
  • This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

About the Team:

Our Software and Services Interface Design Team is looking for a Product designer who is passionate about creating visually stunning products and has a strong focus on precision and attention to detail. The ideal candidate should thrive in fast-paced environments and be able to work effectively under pressure. They should be comfortable making tradeoffs while still maintaining a strong commitment to their creative vision. Additionally, the candidate should embrace ambiguity and be able to respond with creativity in uncertain situations. They should have the ability to take projects from concept to completion, going above and beyond to ensure their success.

Responsibilities:

  • Become a member of the services design team at General Motors responsible for
  • creating, building, and shipping all of General Motors’ web experiences.
  • Design great experiences from conception to full resolution, pixel perfect designs.
  • Collaborate with other designers and design researchers.

  • Mentorship : You inspire teams to achieve a common vision. And guide them when the path isn’t clear cut. You know how to plan and secure relevant training and professional development for the team and can identify how to make each team member flourish.

Additional Job Description

Requirements:

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating pixel perfect design skills.
  • Excellent understanding of layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and color.
  • Ability to quickly produce a great range of design explorations.
  • Amazing attention to detail and passion for precision
  • Impeccable ability to hand off designs with clear specifications ensuring minimal or
  • no revisions are needed.
  • Experience in conducting thorough design reviews and providing actionable.
  • feedback to ensure high quality deliverables.
  • Highly proficient in Figma and prototyping.
  • Passions for staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in English, Communications, HCI, Design, Business, or related discipline
  • Experience influencing product strategy with cross-functional partners.
  • Automotive experience strongly preferred.

COMPENSATION : The median level of salary $110,200 to 176,10 compensation for this role is Annually
