THE OPPORTUNITY

Join our team of high-performing designers who work in an exciting space to transform workforce upskilling. This is a new and growing line of business for D2L.

In this role, you will have responsibilities across all aspects of the design process. Together with the D2L Wave design team, you will craft delightful, useful, and usable designs, build deep empathy and understanding for users and buyers, and contribute to a high-quality user-centered experience for D2L Wave. You will also contribute in defining and executing strong product differentiation for D2L Wave in the talent development market.

In collaboration with cross-functional partners, you will define, implement, and measure your designs to accomplish key business outcomes. Some key areas of investment include:

  • Strong in-product adoption, engagement, and conversion
  • Data-driven & machine-learning driven design to drive strong market differentiation
  • Seamless end-to-end customer journey from pre-sales to adoption & growth
  • Integrate social and viral adoption concepts to drive further growth
  • Identifying novel user value to drive evolution of the marketplace and potential for further differentiation
  • Drive insights and reporting experience across multiple end user roles

Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Design, you will join a strong and collaborative centralized Product Design team with members who focus across different areas at D2L.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • The ability to craft beautiful designs and delightful, useful, and usable experiences; you have strengths in visual, interaction, and motion design
  • Demonstrated application of a Lean UX or similar process; you can illustrate how you work with narrative, artifacts, successes, and challenges
  • Awareness that good design is both about what you do and how you do it; you demonstrate that you care about both
  • Curiosity combined with a desire to learn and grow; you're a life-long learner who is willing to explore new tools and approaches
  • Openness, objectivity, and self-awareness; you are collaborative and seek and share feedback and ideas with your peers
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills; you frame, structure, and present work clearly and confidently, including to product stakeholders and senior leaders
  • A sense of empathy and a user focus; you apply empathy both to your design work and with your project peers

The ideal candidate will be co-located to D2L's Kitchener or Toronto locations, and/or work remotely within the EST time zone.
