Job Summary

The Product Designer is part of a team of product designers to create best-in-class, customer-facing, digital product experiences. This position requires growing User Experience and Human Factors design expertise, business perspective, and awareness of how technology integrates to deliver a digital product. They help to design and build products that transform the way consumers pay for their purchases and retailers grow their businesses, launching features that generate measurable business impact.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Produce top-notch work that injects usability and delight into the user experience, as we continue to push the boundaries of modern UX
  • Create exemplary prototypes and experiences, both alone and with other designers and key stakeholders, while balancing user needs, constraints of technology, brand values, and KPIs
  • Collaborate closely with our user researcher in discovering user pain points and problems, and solve them using all available UX methodologies and tools
  • Apply critical thinking to problem solve through design, testing your assumptions and those of your team in order to push beyond the status quo.
  • Actively collaborate with engineers, QA specialists, product managers, content strategists, and UX research on product strategy and execution
  • Form and nurture relationships with cross-functional peers and stakeholders, actively coordinate with them to improve a workstream's functioning/performance

Must Have

  • 1-3 years of experience as a product designer
  • A documented body of work that demonstrates your end-to-end process and how you used research, data and a design thinking approach to solve problems and uncover opportunities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product management and engineering to develop and implement effective design practices
  • Strong sense of curiosity and desire to represent the voice of our customers
  • An appetite for experimentation, learning, and iteration with a data-centric approach to testing ideas
  • Extensive knowledge of design-related tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, Invision, etc.


Nice to Have

  • Experience as part of a high-performing remote/distributed team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Product Design, UX/UI, Design Thinking
  • Leading, coaching, and/or mentoring of other designers
  • Experience and with accessibility standards
  • Experience in Fin-Tech or Financial Services
  • Experience working on both B2B and B2C products

Typical Starting Range:

$86,100.00 - $156,000.00

Full Salary Range for position:

California:$98,800.00 - $195,000.00

Colorado:$86,100.00 - $163,900.00

New York:$94,700.00 - $195,000.00

Washington:$90,400.00 - $179,100.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safety Time per calendar year at the beginning of each year and is prorated in the associate’s first year of employment.

Hired associates will be able to elect to purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
