WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?


The Product Design team at OJO Canada is working on the future of Canadian Real Estate and Homeownership. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders and empathizing with customers to design intuitive interactions that solve real-world problems for buyers, sellers, agents, and investors. The goal is to create products that positively impact their lives and improve the overall real estate experience.


WHAT WILL YOU DO?


  • Collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, researchers, strategists, and product managers.
  • Quickly and clearly develop and articulate user experiences via flowcharts, wireframes, and prototypes in Figma and Figjam to communicate your thought process to larger audiences.
  • Mastery of formal visual design skills (i.e. color theory, typography, grids), understanding of the principles of atomic design, including symbols, layer styles, and variables, and experience growing a design library.
  • Ability to spot new trends, implement fresh experiences, and collaborate side-by-side with brand designers to shape our products' visual direction and positively impact our design culture.
  • Comfortable communicating and collaborating with our real estate agent team members and mortgage partners.
  • Email template and customer communication touchpoint design.
  • Work with CX researchers involved in customer interviews, usability testing, and customer research to positively improve customer experience and boost core business metrics.
  • Collaborate with fast-moving engineering teams to QA high-quality and intuitive experiences.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?


Must have:


  • Undergraduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience or related Design field or minimum of 3 years in a product design environment with a portfolio of demonstrated shipment of products, sites or apps.
  • A strong understanding of human-centered design principles, processes and aesthetics.
  • Be a strong communicator and advocate for the customer, the brand and its impact.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • You are human-centered, empathetic, humble and willing to fight for what’s best for people-first.


Nice-to-have:


  • Front-end (HTML, CSS, JS, React) experience
  • Experience in real estate or rental space
  • Experience running unmoderated usability tests
  • Illustration, micro-interaction, and/or animation skills
