Cosm Internship Program

Are you ready to make your mark in the professional world? Cosm's ten-week summer internships offer exciting opportunities for personal and professional growth. As an intern, you'll work on projects with real-world impact and attend weekly learning sessions. You'll also get to participate in an "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) session with company leadership and visit our Experience Center in Salt Lake City for a hands-on experience with our products and next-generation innovations.

In this role, you will work directly with and support product design as you get hands-on professional experience in the immersive technology industry. Here you will learn how to build digital, consumer-facing products from the ground up on a cross-functional team that includes members from all disciplines: product, design, engineering, QA, and program management.

LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA

REPORTS TO: Sr. Product Designer

Program Dates: Interns will work up to 240 hours between 06/05/2023 to 08/25/23

The hourly rate for this role is $16.50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers through all stages of the design process and product development lifecycle to build out thoughtful and scalable solutions.
• Conduct agile research to gain a deep understanding of the problem space and empathy in user needs through both qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Identify opportunities to simplify complexity and create better workflows.
• Provide well-articulated design rationale and high-quality deliverables that communicate design directions and details effectively.
• Be an advocate for our users, seek to deeply understand customer needs, and come up with design solutions to help them.
• Be an engaging member of a cross-functional agile product team that consistently delivers value to our users.
• Partner with the engineering team to ensure your work is aligned.
• Seek out and embrace feedback from your peers and stakeholders while providing thoughtful feedback to your team.

Qualifications:

• Junior or Senior in an undergraduate design program or bootcamp or within 1-year post-undergraduate by the start of the program
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Experience in 2D design software (Figma, Principle/Invision, or any prototyping tool, Adobe suite including Photoshop and Illustrator).
• Knowledge of visual principles and design standards (graphic, proportion, typography, composition, color).
• Strong, clear communication skills.
• The ideal candidate is curious, excited to create, relentlessly resourceful and eager to learn, a passionate team player, and interested in technology and design.
