Paid UI/UX Design Internship
Aesthetic Record is a HIPAA-compliant Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and complete Practice Management solution created for Medical Spas, Dermatology, Plastic Surgery and Wellness Clinics. We integrate full charting capabilities with HIPAA-compliant, fully integrated Telehealth, high-quality before and after photos and videos, complete point-of-sale transacting, full online booking, inventory & supply chain management, patient loyalty administration, 3rd-Party CRM integration and end-to-end key performance indicator (KPI) reporting. In addition, Aesthetic Record operates the Aesthetic Record Marketplace, Aesthetic Next, For The Record podcast, LeadAR & Aesthetic Next Productions
Summary
We are looking for a UI/UX Intern Designer with a strategic mind, creative soul, and passion for storytelling. This person will be using Figma in addition to other creative tools like Canva & the Adobe Creative Suite to modernize our existing mobile and web interface and design new feature screes. This will include wireframing and building prototypes of existing and new functionality. In addition, our UI/UX Design Intern will also assist with reviewing our existing Aesthetic Record website and improve the existing interface with fresh design concepts and improved user experience. The UI/UX Design Intern will also assist with building new pages to highlight features, add FAQs, improve site functionality and more.
The UI/UX Design Intern will report to the Chief Growth Officer but will also work closely with our development teams, our VP of Operations and our Graphic Design team. Our design philosophy is to transform the customer experience by translating our brand promise to customers via data-driven intelligence and smart design.
The internship is a paid, part-time position requiring a commitment of 25 to 30 hours per week during the 12-week program. Our team operates in a hybrid remote/in-person structure with three days per week in the office. There is some flexibility into which days/times will be required to meet both the needs of the company and intern’s schedule. Ability to work on-site at our Irving, TX location is a must due to the collaboration and communication amongst team members. Upon completion of the internship, there is an opportunity to continue working in a part or full-time role.
Key Responsibilities:
Under supervision and supported by training, the UI/UX Design Intern will be required to:
● Manage multiple projects across our website and software platforms using project management software.
● Design new feature interfaces, create prototypes and add user flows for Front End Designers to translate into code.
● Work with product and marketing teams to reimagine and improve the design of our core websites.
● Participate in design discussions and give feedback during planning and strategy meetings.
● Collaborate with the creative team to align designs with existing brand guidelines and standards.
● Communicate with internal clients to understand their needs and requirements.
● Apply best practices in design and user experience with each project.
Required Skills and Abilities:
● Familiarity with design software and technologies (Figma, Adobe creative suite, Canva)
● Understanding of UI/UX best practices and general website/ SEO standards.
● Comfortable working with people, taking direction, and contributing ideas.
● A keen eye for aesthetics and attention to detail.
● Demonstrated ability to capture a vision through visual creativity.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, able to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills & Abilities:
● Experience creating UI/UX designs and passing them to front-end developers for implementation.
● Basic understanding of web development (React, HTLM, CSS, etc.)
● Understanding of Google UI/UX best practices for SEO.
● Familiarity with ChatGPT or other AI software tools.
● Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Figma including experience with UI Kits or Elements
Education and Experience:
● Open to undergraduate and graduate students interested in a career in Software Development, UI/UX Design, or Graphic Design
