Tempo is an agile studio that specializes in providing right-sized web solutions to address common business challenges. Our mission is to deliver high-quality websites and services, empowering our clients to compete, operate, and grow in today's digital marketplace. Born out of the world-class agency, Clockwork, Tempo was created to fill a gap in the market where organizations were struggling with DIY options, abandoned by contractors, or unable to afford the big agency prices. Our dedicated team of designers, strategists, and developers work closely with clients to ensure a solid digital foundation that supports their unique needs and goals. At Tempo, we foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, providing an environment for team members to grow and develop their skills across various disciplines.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented Junior Product Designer who is passionate about visual design, strategic thinking and working with a diverse set of clients. We also hope to grow this individual's development skills using tools like Webflow and WordPress builders. This role involves wearing multiple hats, but our aim is to guide and support you in acquiring and refining this versatile skillset over time.

Contract:
Part-time, starting at 20 hours/week with potential to increase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our small team and client contacts to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Provide timely communications to team and clients through management software (ex. Trello)
  • Strategically integrate business goals into a concise site/product strategy for clients
  • Develop visually appealing and effective designs for websites and digital products
  • Present work to clients, explaining design choices, strategy, and rationale
  • Refine and iterate on designs based on client feedback and team input
  • Familiarity with responsive design and mobile-first principles
  • Willing to learn and grow development skills using low-code tools like Webflow or WordPress builders

Qualifications:

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating design skills, strategic thinking, and creative problem-solving
  • Proficient in design software (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Eagerness to learn and grow, with a focus on developing web development skills

Nice to Have:

  • Existing understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and an interest in expanding these skills.
  • Experience with Webflow, WordPress, or other website builders

Experience:

  • At least 6 months of experience in visual design and strategy
  • Coursework experience or bootcamp projects accepted
  • Portfolio of shareable work
