The Role
Are you passionate about using your gift for language to design intuitive, delightful product experiences that help users accomplish their goals? As a User Experience writer at SoFi, you'll be working to shape product experiences by creating useful, meaningful text that helps guide users through their top tasks and product journeys.
As part of the product design team, you'll work with people in a variety of UX design-related jobs including researchers, product managers, engineers, marketing and customer operations. Collaborating with each, you strive to establish cohesive language and a unified voice across products and platforms that reflect the SoFi brand. You'll use empathy, logic and hard data to inform content choices, and will become an expert in the SoFi product offerings, specifically within the lending suite of products.
As a writer, you have a portfolio of work that demonstrates your gift for simplifying and improving user experiences.
You will help drive guidelines and best practices, develop playbooks and recommendations to ensure our content can scale consistently across product experiences.
What You'll Do:
- Write and edit clear and precise UX that helps users through their goals
- Integrate the SoFi brand into the content experience of SoFi products
- Conduct competitive research to inform content recommendations
- Identify opportunities for improvement, additions, and innovations. Prepare to pitch those ideas as they surface and are defined.
- Share your recommendations/findings in a number of presentations with different groups of partners and stakeholders
- Participate in Design Reviews, giving and soliciting member-centric feedback
- Present your Summer project to SoFi's Senior Leadership team, including our CEO, Anthony Noto
What You'll Need:
- Currently enrolled as a student, entering or finishing up your Master's program in the Arts & Humanities such as a focus in Communications, Journalism, English, Creative Writing or related field.
- Will be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program during the 2022-2023 school year. (Ideal graduation date is December 2022)
- Must be articulate, organized and able to manage multiple projects across product lines
- Basic understanding of the product design process, design thinking as a bonus
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and communicate ideas visually, verbally, and in writing
- Must be attending a US university
Nice to have:
- Previous experience in UX writing, storytelling, content creation, or marketing
- Previous exposure to agile start-up technology companies, and/or fin-tech companies
- Passionate about personal finance and technology
