Intern - UX Researcher (Summer 2024)

Your role will be instrumental in helping Itron gain valuable user insights and understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing research findings and consolidating insights into a centralized repository (e.g., Excel or BI).
• Designing a robust data repository structure for qualitative and quantitative input.
• Presenting insights through frequency, density, persona, company and segment, and key contextual relationships.

• Collaborating on usability studies with UX staff.
• Conducting business process analysis and diagramming system actor flows.
• Defining and refining personas.
• Creating surveys with a focus on critical research questions.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Clean data form understanding and experience in data analysis (data visualization using Excel, Power BI, or similar).
• Exposure to qualitative and quantitative problem definition.
• Interest in system/user flow analysis.
• Understanding of user research question development.
• Familiarity with persona definition and use.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in collaboration within a research or similar setting.
• Interviewing experience is a plus.
• Design coursework is a plus.

Software Background:

• Proficiency in data visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
• Familiarity with Figma; experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of remote user research tools (survey tools, testing tools, interview formats), as well as design tools like Figma or similar, and card sorting tools such as Miro or similar.

The successful candidate’s starting wage will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.

Washington State: The base hourly wage is $15.38 – $34.62
