Intern - UI/UX Designer

Medscape, a division of WebMD, develops and hosts physician portals and related mobile applications that make it easier for physicians and healthcare professionals to access clinical reference sources, stay abreast of the latest clinical information, learn about new treatment options, earn continuing medical education credits and communicate with peers.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a UX/UI Product Design Intern to join our team! You will work closely with our design/UX team to create and improve our Medscape product suite. You will help to conduct user research, build wireframes, and prototype designs in Figma while staying on brand and utilizing our design system. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the UX/UI process and how to design user interfaces that are both user friendly and effective.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to develop new and exciting products and features across responsive web and mobile app
• Conduct user research and usability testing to help inform design decisions
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using design tools (e.g. Miro, Figma)
• Present designs to stakeholders and iterate on feedback
• Contribute to the organization’s design system and design process
• Participate in design team Design Jams (review session) and provide feedback
• Have fun!

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3.2 GPA
• Must be returning as an undergraduate or graduate student in the Fall 2023 semester
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong visual design characteristics with attention to detail
• Experience with design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Pursuing a degree in Product Design, UX, or related field
• Self-motivated and has a desire to learn
