We make the best technology hardware on the planet, but our best is always a prototype for something better and our people thrive with a driven mindset – better builds on better.Samsung eCommerce team is working on developing a next-gen shopping experience on Samsung.com desktop and mobile platforms, and Shop Samsung app. We are seeking a motivated UI/UX design intern who could thrive in a fast-pace, cross team environment, with focus on highly visible, challenging, and cross discipline projects. We are looking for a candidate who will be working collaboratively with senior UX and product mentors to help users achieve their goals and needs. The candidate will craft great shopping experiences using design best-practices. Day to day tasks will include working on innovative designs that improve our customer’s experience from start to the end of the shopping journey and also create on motion design proposal for the current UI interactions. The ideal candidate must be a collaborator, able to demonstrate design thinking, while developing detail level work flows, wireframes and visual and motion design.        Compensation for this role in Bellevue WA is expected to be between $ 36. – 46. per hour. In Mountain View CA pay rate will be between $ 39. – 49. Per hour.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate current designs and improve them visually following the latest design trends
  • Create high fidelity flows
  • Develop motion prototypes that will demonstrate motion design concepts
  • Review work with the design team to ensure it meets product requirements and basic UX/UI guidelines

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors in Design or pursuing
  • Understanding basic design principles
  • Fluency with common design software (Figma, Sketch, Adobe suite/AfterEffects) for the creation of visual design, prototypes, and presentations
  • Familiarity with prototyping and user testing is a plus
  • Naturally curious mind, loves to explore and nurture ideas, an innovative and resourceful person who thinks and acts "outside-of-the-box"
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have an incredible eye for detail and have high standards for creating quality work
  • Passionate about user-centered design for web and mobile experiences
  • Solid understanding of visual design principles including typography, hierarchy, color, space, and consistency
  • Examples of work that demonstrates the design process and visual design solutions that also showcase your prototyping skills
  • Excellent visual, verbal and written communication skills
