We are seeking candidates for exciting and rewarding Apprenticeship opportunities available at Dow’s global headquarters in Midland, MI to join the Information Systems Apprentice Program as an Associate Information Technology Apprentice.
About you and this role
As part of the Information Systems Apprentice Program, Apprentices participate in a 1+ year program offering hands-on work experience designed for individuals seeking to enter the Information Systems/Information Technology field. During the program, Apprentices will be offered paid training, wages, and some benefits.
Dow has partnered with Apprenti, the first nationally registered tech apprenticeship program designed to bridge the talent and diversity gaps by adapting the time-tested model of apprenticeship to meet evolving workforce needs. Apprenti's unique apprenticeship program puts you on a straightforward, step-by-step fast track toward your dream job.
Upon successful completion of the program, Apprentices will have earned industry-recognized certificates/certifications in technical disciplines. Apprentices will report to an Apprenticeship Program Leader who will support the Apprentice throughout the apprenticeship program. Apprentices who successfully complete the program will also be highly considered for a job within the company.
Each role will be an entry level hybrid position with a combination of online and in-person training, meetings, activities, etc. The assigned office location will be at Dow's global headquarters in Midland, MI. The duration of these initial positions, with achieving the training component, is typically 12-18 months, of which then we will continue to work with you on your development and future career at Dow.
The Associate Information Technology Technician will be involved in projects that are critical to moving forward Dow’s IT Strategy and digitally transforming the organization. They will support critical business and technical needs for Dow business, research, and manufacturing functions around the world in a variety of process & technology areas including but not limited to data analytics, web and/or desktop application development (programming), cyber security, and network solutions.
With this posting we are seeking an Apprentice interested in expanding their technical knowledge within the occupation below:
UX Designer
A User Experience (UX) Designer is tasked with enhancing an end user’s interactions with a digital technology or experience. This includes optimizing the accessibility, efficiency and general usability of a website, application, or digital technology. Leveraging skills in research and usability testing, visual design, content strategy/web development, this role combines a holistic understanding of strategic optimization with a toolkit of functional design and development skills to optimize tech-centric interactions.
Related Technical Instruction (RTI) for UX Designer 40 hours per week immersive virtual training is scheduled to start on August 1st and complete on October 20th.
As part of RTI, UX Designer apprentices generally receive instruction in:
On-the-Job Training (OJT) will begin on October 23rd for 12 months for 40 hours per week hybrid combination of online and in person team collaboration.
During OJT, UX Designer apprentices generally work on tasks substantially similar to the following:
Apprentices may work together with personnel from the United States; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Mumbai, India; and Shanghai, China, as well as clients from any other Dow global locations.
Candidates must have a strong interest in the application of information technology to meet rapidly changing business needs. They must have good judgment, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with diverse, global teams in an empowered environment. Strong human relations skills, teamwork, and flexibility are essential for success.

The hourly rate of pay for this role starts at $22.98.
