Immersive Design Intern - Fall 2023 (September - December)

Punchcut is looking for an Immersive Design Intern to join our team. You should have a strong understanding of user-centered design and be comfortable working independently and in collaboration with other designers. You are currently enrolled in an academic program in a related field, and you’re passionate about design that goes beyond the flat screen using motion, prototyping, code, sound or space to create innovative solutions to both web, mobile and emerging interfaces. You feel comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and creative design studio environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

‍

• Produce design artifacts such as wireframes, interaction guidelines, and logic prototypes
• Go beyond wireframes and mockups to show designs through higher-fidelity media such as motion, prototypes, code, sound or 3D.
• Design and prototype experiences for emerging interfaces
• Help with the creation, evaluation, and execution of new tools, workflows, and frameworks
• Create conceptual diagrams, use cases, and storyboards
• Sketch user scenarios and user interfaces to help conceptualize user experiences
• Participate on multi-disciplinary teams to solve design challenges
• Assist other members of the immersive design, interaction design and visual design teams as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

‍

• Experience designing for web, mobile and emerging interfaces. Designing for games, voice, automotive, or XR is a plus
• Education in Computer Science, Motion Design, Interaction Design or related field
• Strong understanding and demonstration of user-centered design theory and practice
• Comfortable using design tools including Figma and Sketch
• Able to bring designs to life using prototyping tools such as Principle, ProtoPie, Framer, Origami, Unity or HTML/CSS/Javascript
• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
• Sense of humor and positive, flexible attitude
